COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY AND PRO BONO WORK
Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP has a long history of involvement in the communities where we practice law. In addition to representing many of the companies that helped to build Pittsburgh, our founders, Charles Thorp, Earl Reed, and Clyde Armstrong, were respected leaders in business, education, and community affairs. That tradition of community involvement continues through the firm's financial support of local development groups, arts organizations, education funds, and a wide range of charitable causes. The firm also challenges its lawyers and paralegals to perform at least ten hours of pro bono service per year. Many exceed that goal. In fact, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation recently recognized Thorp Reed & Armstrong for outstanding pro bono commitments to charitable, community, professional and public service activities. Thorp Reed & Armstrong is a proud co-founder of the "Lawyers on Loan Project," a ground-breaking effort to provide full-time pro bono services for a full year to the clients of the Neighborhood Legal Services Association (www.nlsa.us). For more information about the Lawyers on Loan Project please contact NLSA Board President and Thorp Reed & Armstrong partner, Mark Nowak at 412 394 2428.
